| Welcome
Teach.chem is a series of summer and academic-year workshops that
will strengthen the chemistry content and constructivist pedagogy
of Illinois science teachers. This project intends to identify and
develop chemistry teachers who act as catalysts to systematically
reform the way in which students learn chemistry and to improve
their knowledge of chemistry. These teachers are responsible for
helping to implement high quality pedagogy using standards-based
instructional materials.
Ongoing support for these teachers will be provided through local
workshops, in-class mentoring, and lesson and activity sharing.
Teachers will be linked together using technology-based communication
systems such as the Illinois State University Online Chemistry Teaching
Help Service.
